1. WHO WE ARE & HOW TO CONTACT US

This Privacy Policy explains how MoneyMade (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use our website at www.mymoneymade.com (the “Website”) and our services. We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. THE DATA WE COLLECT

We collect:

  • Contact details (name, email, phone number, preferred contact method)
  • Assessment responses and results (Step 2: CHECK)
  • Information you provide (enquiries, complaints, forms)
  • Technical data (IP address, browser type, device type, cookies*)
  • Employer information (business name, contact details, company size)

2A. STEP 2: CHECK – FINANCIAL FOUNDATIONS QUESTIONNAIRE

When you complete our CHECK questionnaire, we collect and process:

WHAT WE COLLECT:

  • Your answers to 25 questions across five financial foundation areas
  • Your overall score and category (Wobbly Foundations/A Little Creaky/Solid Foundations)
  • Individual area scores (Make It Safe, Make It Grow, Make It Home, Make It Last, Make It Count)
  • Date and time you completed the questionnaire
  • Your IP address (collected automatically)
  • Your email address (ONLY if you choose to download your report as a PDF)

HOW IT WORKS:

  • On-screen results: You can view your results without providing any personal details
  • PDF download: If you want to download your report, we’ll ask for your email address so we can send it to you
  • No account required: We do not require you to create an account

WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR DATA:

  • Generate your personalised Financial Foundations Report
  • Send your PDF report to your email (if requested)
  • Store your results for the retention periods described in Section 7
  • Share your results with FCA-regulated advisers ONLY if you request an introduction (you provide explicit consent at that stage)

LEGAL BASIS:

We process your CHECK questionnaire data based on:

  • Your consent (given when you start the questionnaire and when you provide your email for PDF download)
  • Contractual necessity (to provide the assessment service you requested)
3. HOW WE COLLECT YOUR DATA

We collect data:

  • Directly from you (forms, assessments, enquiries)
  • Automatically (cookies and similar technologies when you browse)
  • From third parties (analytics providers like Google Analytics)
4. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

We use your personal data to:

  • Provide our services (assessment results, reports, employer services, customer support)
  • Improve the Website (analyse usage, identify improvements, enhance user experience)
  • Communicate with you (confirmation emails, service updates if opted in, marketing with consent, respond to queries)
  • Connect you with FCA-regulated financial advisers when requested – we share your contact details and assessment results with matched advisers and their support teams
  • Comply with legal obligations (regulatory requirements, fraud prevention)
5. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING

We process your data based on:

  • Consent (marketing communications, cookies, CHECK questionnaire)
  • Contractual necessity (providing requested services)
  • Legitimate interests (operating the Website, preventing fraud, customer support)
  • Legal obligation (tax, accounting, data protection compliance)

FOR THE CHECK QUESTIONNAIRE SPECIFICALLY:

We obtain your consent when you:

  • Click “I understand and agree to proceed” before starting the questionnaire
  • Provide your email address to download your PDF report
  • Request an adviser introduction

You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@mymoneymade.com (subject to limitations described in Section 6).

6. WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH

We share data with:

FCA-REGULATED FINANCIAL ADVISERS

When you request an adviser introduction after receiving CHECK results and/or via Step 3: ACT, you provide explicit consent for us to share:

  • Your contact details (name, email, phone number, preferred contact method)
  • Your CHECK questionnaire results and Financial Foundations Report
  • Any additional information you provide in your introduction request

Your information will be shared with your matched adviser and their administrative/support staff as needed.

Important:

  • We only share your data with FCA-regulated advisers
  • You explicitly consent to this sharing by ticking the consent box when requesting an introduction
  • The adviser becomes an independent data controller of your information, meaning they are responsible for how they handle your data going forward
  • You should review the adviser’s own privacy policy

WITHDRAWING CONSENT FOR ADVISER SHARING:

You can withdraw your consent at any time BEFORE we share your information with an adviser by emailing hello@mymoneymade.com. Please include your email address used to submit the initial consent, if this differs from consent withdrawal request.

Important timing information:

  • We typically share information with advisers within 24-48 hours of your request
  • Once we have shared your information with an adviser, we cannot retrieve it
  • After sharing, the adviser becomes an independent data controller of your information
  • You will need to contact the adviser directly to request deletion of your data from their systems
  • Advisers may have regulatory obligations to retain certain records (e.g., FCA record-keeping requirements)

If you withdraw consent before we share, we will:

  • Not share your information with any adviser
  • Delete your request from our system
  • Confirm deletion via email

OTHER DATA SHARING:

  • Service providers: email providers, website hosting, analytics (Google Analytics), AI platforms – all contractually obligated to process data securely
  • Legal/regulatory authorities (if required by law)
  • Business acquirers (in event of sale/merger – we’ll notify you)

We do not sell your data to third parties.

7. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

We retain different types of data for different periods based on legal requirements and business necessity:

CHECK QUESTIONNAIRE DATA:

  • On-screen results and results with email address (PDF downloaded): 12 months, then automatically deleted
  • If you request adviser introduction: 6 years from date of introduction (for regulatory compliance purposes)

CONTACT DETAILS & SERVICE RECORDS:

  • General enquiries: 2 years after last contact
  • Employer services: 6 years after contract end
  • Adviser introductions: 6 years

ANONYMISED DATA:

We may anonymise your data for statistical purposes (e.g., “% of users with solid foundations”). Anonymised data cannot identify you and may be retained indefinitely.

DELETION BEFORE RETENTION PERIOD ENDS:

You can request early deletion at any time: hello@mymoneymade.com

Please note: If you’ve downloaded a PDF report, it will remain on your device even after we delete your data from our systems, as we cannot remotely delete files from your computer.

8. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

We primarily store data in the UK/EEA. If transferred outside these regions, we use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions to ensure protection.

9. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

  • Access your information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your information
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent
  • Not be subject to automated decision-making (see Section 15)
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). That said, we’d value the chance to resolve any concerns with you directly first — please contact us using the email address below. We are registered with the ICO, registration number ZC080153.

10. DATA SECURITY

We implement appropriate security measures including encryption, secure hosting, access controls, and regular backups. We limit data access to authorised personnel only.

11. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Our Website is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect children’s data.

Our Website may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

15. AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING

The CHECK questionnaire uses automated processing to calculate your score and generate your report. Here’s how it works:

HOW YOUR SCORE IS CALCULATED:

  1. You answer 25 questions across five foundation areas
  2. Each answer receives 0, 1, or 2 points based on pre-defined criteria
  3. Your points are totalled (maximum 50 points)
  4. You’re placed into one of three categories: Wobbly Foundations (score 1-3 per area), A Little Creaky (score 4-7 per area), or Solid Foundations (score 8-10 per area)
  5. Educational tips (What this means) are provided based on your specific answers

IMPORTANT TO KNOW:

  • This is an educational self-assessment tool, not financial advice
  • The scoring is based on generalised principles, not your unique circumstances
  • Results cannot account for the full complexity of your financial situation
  • You should not rely solely on these results for financial decisions

YOUR RIGHTS:

You have the right to:

  • Request human review of your results
  • Challenge the scoring or categorisation
  • Request explanation of how your score was calculated
  • Object to automated processing

16. YOUR CHECK RESULTS – ACCESS & DELETION

ACCESSING YOUR RESULTS:

  • On-screen: Available immediately after completing the questionnaire
  • PDF download: Sent to your email address if requested
  • No account needed: We don’t require you to create an account to access results

RETAKING THE QUESTIONNAIRE:

  • You can retake CHECK as many times as you like
  • We don’t automatically link multiple attempts unless you use the same email address for PDF downloads

DELETING YOUR RESULTS:

To request deletion of your CHECK results:

  • Email: hello@mymoneymade.com
  • Include: The email address you used (if you downloaded a PDF)
  • We’ll respond within 30 days

What happens when we delete your data:

  • Your questionnaire answers deleted from our systems
  • Your results deleted from our systems
  • Your email removed from our database
  • Any download links disabled
  • PDFs you’ve already downloaded remain on your device (we cannot remotely delete files from your computer)

After deletion, you’re welcome to retake the questionnaire anytime.
