Where do you start with your money?
Most of us were never taught this. Not at school, not at home, not really anywhere. We pick up fragments instead – something a parent said, something a colleague mentioned, something we half-read online – and we assemble them into a rough plan and hope it holds.
It usually holds. Until it doesn’t.
The problem isn’t that people are careless with money. It’s that nobody ever gave us a starting point. And without one, the same three questions tend to circle:
Where do I start? Who do I trust? What should I know before I speak to anyone?
They’re good questions. They’re also the reason a lot of people do nothing at all, because not knowing where to begin can feel safer than beginning in the wrong place.
MoneyMade is education first. Everything in Step 1 is free and there is nothing to buy. If you later decide you want to speak to someone, that’s a separate choice, and it stays yours.
Five basics, one foundation
We built the Make It Model™ to answer the first question. It breaks the core of personal finance into five areas.
Make it safe. Protecting yourself and the people who depend on you.
Make it grow. The difference between saving and investing, and what really drives long-term results.
Make it home. The honest trade-offs between renting and buying.
Make it last. Putting something aside for your future self.
Make it count. Making sure your wishes are known and your people are looked after.
That’s it. That’s the whole foundation.
Then check where you stand
Knowing the five areas is one thing. Knowing which of them you’ve actually covered is another – and most people have never really looked.
Our CHECK assessment takes about five minutes. Twenty-five multiple choice questions, no jargon, no scoring to interpret, no judgement. At the end you’ll see how your foundations measure up across all five areas, and which of three houses you’re standing in: wobbly foundations, a little creaky, or solid.
Wherever you land, you’ll know. And knowing is where it starts.
